An Australian search team have finally located the remains of it’s last two Airmen who were missing in Vietnam. They were located near the Laotian border which was their last known position before they crashed in the jungle while returning from a bombing mission.The remains of Flying Officer Michael Herbert, and Pilot Officer Robert Carver have been accounted for and verified by forensic experts but have not been removed from the country yet. That will happen after further coordination with the Vietnamese Government. The search team applauds the cooperation that they have gotten from the Vietnamese Government and former soldiers as being instrumental in the recovery effort.
We are happy that the families of these Airmen can finally have closure in this matter. This is one reason why we offer the POW/MIA design as a side panel design for all of the custom military rings that we offer.
