Ill. Prison to get Gitmo DetaineesThis move is part of the effort to close down the Navy run prison in Guantanimo Bay in Cuba. Approximately 100 terror detainees will be moved there as a first wave of transfers. Others will be transported to other prisons which we don’t know of yet.

The move will be good for the town of Thomson which desperately needs the revenue that the Federal purchase will generate. The state government gets to unload the prison which was languishing and the move will provide some jobs for the town’s residents.

The move will also open the door for the prisoners to be tried on American soil. This will be good news for a few government service ring customers who happen to work in State and Federal prisons.
