India Steams Ahead With Two CarriersThe Indian Navy is doing some serious beefing up over the next few years. Part of this may be their anticipation of hostilities with Pakistan. During their last war with Pakistan they saw that Naval operations were a great benefit to the overall war effort. I’m sure that they have many other reasons for beefing up their Navy but I really don’t know what they are. You Navy ring customers will be familiar with some of the following types of ships that they are adding to their inventory but many of you marine corps, air force and army ring customers may not be familiar with these ships or their function.

The list of new ships will include two 40,000 ton Russian made Aircraft Carriers, three Guided Missile Destroyers which are being built, seven Stealth Frigates which will be constructed in the near future, one Russian Frigate, four Anti Submarine Warfare Corvettes which will be built, eleven subs, (5 of which will be nuclear), one Russian sub which is being procured, they will also acquire eight mine counter measure vessels, and two fleet Replenishment Tankers.

We are talking about some serious firepower here folks. The motto of this post is; Don’t mess with India.
