The US military will greatly bolster its surveillance capabilities in Afghanistan during the upcoming troop surge. I can see major benefits in this strategy since I am a former military man.
The major advantage is that this will be a force multiplier for our troops. The use of this expanded technology will reduce the need for manpower. For example our Air Force military ring customers won’t have to be everywhere at the same time. The aerial surveillance allow commanders to direct our resources to where they are needed. Since the area that they have to cover is vast this will be a great help. We won’t need forces all over the place.
Some of the different equipment that will be sent will be MC-12W piloted surveillance planes and Gordon Stare high tech video sensors. We need to use every tool that we have to its maximum advantage in order to win this war.
