Sun Tzu was an ancient Chinese General who is believed to have written “The Art of War.” I have read this book as I’m sure many of you have too and it is timeless. The wisdom that he applies to doing battle can be applied to the modern battlefield also.
One thing about him is that he was absolutely ruthless. I’ll compare him to Darth Vader. Let me share this account with you.
When King Wu wanted to see how effective this General was at training troops he gave him a number of his concubines to train. He picked the top two concubines and put them in charge of two companies. When they gave an order the rest of the women giggled. He then had the top two killed and I guess you know that there were no more problems after that. Totally ruthless but totally effective. I’m glad as I know the rest of you military ring customers are also that I never served under a commander like that.
