The Brigadier (One Star) General

1 starThe 1 Star General is the lowest of the flag officer (General Officer’s) rank. In order to be promoted to the rank of 1 star the officer must be selected by a board of Generals for recommendation. He or she is then chosen by the President and has to be confirmed by the Senate. Sounds deep dosen’t it?

Then after appointment the 1 Star can only serve for 5 years. Did many of you military ring customers know that? After that time he or she must either be promoted or retire unless he or she has less than 30 years of military service. For all of you US Navy ring customers this rank is equal to the rank of Rear Admiral.
