airstrikeThe Yemeni government requested help from the US in the Form of air support in its recent offensive against al-Qaeda hideouts and training sites in that country.

Obviously al-Qaeda had stepped up its terror attacks in Yemen which caused the Yemeni’s to retaliate. I don’t think the offensive was done out of any kind of loyalty to the US. If that were so they would have done it long ago. The good thing is that they know they need to do something. Whether it is done to help us or for their own benefit dosen’t matter as long as it hurts al-Qaeda.

From what I read the Obama administration was pressuring the Yeminis to take some sort of action, and I’m sure that the Bush administration pressured them too. All of you military ring customers who have ben following this blog know that for us to be successful in our fight we need help from Middle Eastern countries.
