There is a growing concern about al- Shabab terrorist camps which are growing in membership in Somalia. The camps are training recruits from all over the world to include many American Somalis.
The recruits are fed a steady diet of anti-US rhetoric and even use pictures of president Obama for target practice. This definitely is not good news for all of you custom military ring customers because it suggests the possibility of another place to fight terrorists.
Those of you who are Iraqi Freedom ring and Enduring Freedom ring customers are aware of the ramifications of this already.
The problem in Somalia are the same as in Afghanistan. The Somali government is weak and only has control of a few blocks of the city of Mogadishu. I think we need to reconsider our goals in this war on terror. There is no way that we can wipe out terrorism worldwide. Maybe we need to conserve our manpower and just use technology to search for and eliminate known operatives. Maybe it would be better if we concentrated more on keeping terrorists from entering our country.
