A Troop Surge Would Build Forces Quickly

Gates: Afghan Surge Could Occur SwiftlySecretary of Defense Robert Gates says that any troop surge to Afgahnistanwill move rather quickly which seems to indicate to me that some plans have already been laid. The logistics part of the equation has already been worked out it seems. We have certainly gotten enough practice at rapid deployment over the last ten or so years.

I think that it is safe to say that any decision tat the president makes would almost certainly require sending additional troops. The question is which course of action will he favor out of what he has been given.

My educated guess is that a course of action has already been determined. President Obama has probably decided and wants some conditions to be modified or met before it is implemented. The new plan probably won’t be announced until all of the President’s requirements can be achieved. http://www.militaryringexpress.com
