The US Department of Defense (DOD) consists of the Departments of the Army, Navy, and the Air Force. It also has ancillary agencies such as the National Security Agency (NSA), and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA).
The headquarters for DOD is the Pentagon in Washington D.C. the purpose of DOD is to coordinate and supervise all agencies and functions of the federal government relating to national security and the military. The need for this organization was realized in 1945 and it was established in 1947. Almost every one of our military ring customers is associated with DOD in some way shape or form.
Can you imagine the reach and responsibilities of this government agency. It is a behemoth. Every person that I have known who has worked there worked in a high speed, low drag type of environment. Their only speed is fast forward. This in itself is a testimony to te responsibilities that working in this environment incur. Only the best were chosen to be assigned there.
