Here’s a new twist for our military ring posts. In these days and times this event just goes to show how our Armed Forces have to be flexible. Our soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen have to be able to do a whole lot more than fight. The new breed of soldier knows how to use his mind and improvise. He can turn defeat into victory if he gets the opportunity.
This is what I think seperates the winners from the losers in war. The real winner will find a way to prevail. He dosen’t have to be the strongest. He has to have the most resolve. He also has to be able to think under pressure. I remember when I was younger. When I competed in sports I would rely on my physical strength and coordination. As I got older I began to lose the edge. Finally I had lost it altogether. I had to leard how to use my mind. I learned how to intimidate my opponent. If I couldn’t make him fearful I would play on his temper and make him angry. This worked but you had to be careful because it was dangerous.
At this point in my life I don’t have to try to intimidate people. I just rely on intelligence and experience. So must it be with our Armed Forces.
