Major Nidal Malik hassan who killed 13 people and wounded 29 others in Fort Hood Texas last week has regained consciousness and is able to talk.
Thats about all of the current information that anyone knows at this point. I’m not going to give my opinion on too much on this one. I’m just going to state the facts as I have read them. Our sympathy goes to all of our 4th ID ring customers and our Operation Enduring Freedom ring customers on this. We certainly wish you all the best, and we wish you well.
Their were warning signs that this man was unstable which were largely ignored. maybe it was because no one thought that a man of his rank would ever pull such a stunt. Maybe its time to take the gloves off and not to be politically correct about everything. In this situation you have a person who has sworn to defend his country from all enemies who actually turns on his fellow soldiers. This is war and we need to do what we have to do to keep this from happening again. At the very least the punishment for this crime should be as severe as we can possibly make it. It is one thing when a sworn enemy kills Americans, but a soldier who is sworn to protect his country is a horse of a different color.
