The military air traffic controller has to posses certain qualities which are unique to this job. The main concern is passenger safety. If a controller is incompetent many people could pay the price with their own lives.
The air traffic controller’s job is to maintain safety and order among the aircraft in his or her sector. This is not a physically demanding job but it is one of the most stressful jobs that it is possible to have.
The qualities that an air traffic controller must have are; he or she must be organized and a quick thinker. The controller must be able to quickly solve problems concerning math and space computations. Excellent memory is a must. The controller must be able to quickly and effectively communicate in emergencies, and remain calm under pressure. Air traffic controllers are banned from using some medications for the entire time that he or she is employed. This is one of those jobs that you hear almost nothing about but it is critical.
