Will Iraqi’s Be Able to Stand On Their Own?

gulf warThe biggest question in my mind is now that we have withdrawn most of our soldiers from the populated areas of Iraq will the Iraqi Army and Police Force be able to stand on their own? When I look at many of the stories of their reactions to certain situations there seems to be a lot of mixed loyalties among members of both organizations.

The Iraqis must realize that they need to take a firm stand against the forces which keep their country under seige. I for one am not sure that they can do so. There seems to be many who sympathize with the terrorists. Maybe it is not so much that they sympathize with the terrorists, but that they disagree with the American presence in their country. I for one would not like for my country to be occupied by a foriegn army, so imagine what it must be like for them.

I certainly hope that they will be able to stand, because if they can we won’t have to interfere in their affairs anymore, and we won’t have to go back. The whole thing will become a memory to be commemorated with a custom military ring. I would rather the incident be a fading memory than a reality any day.
