The latest US led offensive in Afghanistan is encountering little or no resistance from Taliban fighters. The reason for this is that the Taliban fighters know that they are no match for the amount of force being used. They have gone underground and are mingled in with the civilian population so as not to draw attention.
The tactic seems to be to delay and eventually wear out our forces. This guerilla tactic has worked in past times in other places among other forces. I hope that we can find a way to successfully counter it here.
Our leadership is too smart to beat in this way. There is an effective counter to this delaying tactic, we just need to find out what it is. We need to be able to force the hand of the Taliban. We wish the best to all of our soldiers in Afghanistan at this time and all of you who are preparing to go. Take it from the custom military ring man again we will find a way to counter these tactics and come home victorious.
