The term “King of Battle refers to the Field Artillery. This term is probably given because of the mass destruction capabilities that Artillery is capable of. Artillery rounds will kill everything within a 50 meter radius of where they impact. There are various ways to use artillery and many different types of artillery pieces, and ammunition.
There are artillery rounds that produce smoke, white phosporus, or shrapnell. Artillery illumination rounds can light up the battlefield at night. There are even artillery rounds which scatter minefields, or destroy vehicles. Artillery can even fire laser guided rounds to kill tanks.
You can see why artillery is called the King of Battle. Smart Tankers or Infantrymen will use artillery as much as they possibly can before they will attempt to engage the target themselves.
