Space Shuttle Discovery launches at the start of STS-120.Chris Cassidy who is a former Navy SEAL is a menber of the space shuttle crew which will go into space today after a 4 day delay. Mr. Cassidy is the first Navy SEAL to turn astronaut.

Just for some background on this individual let me note that he was the Honor Graduate of his BUD/s class in 1993. This shows me that Mr Cassidy must have some kind of personal committment to be able to receive this honor and to complete the rigorous requirements and training that it takes to become an Astronaut. Not only that but he must have something going for him to cause him to beĀ chosen as one of the crewmembers.

He was selected for Astronaut training in 2004. SEAL’s will no longer be permitted to apply for Astronaut training due to personnel shortages so Mr Cassidy could easily become the only person to ever serve as a Navy SEAL and an Astronaut. We can take Mr Cassidy’s accomplishments as diverse as they are and create a custom Navy Seal ring for him. we pride ourselves so much on theĀ amount of customization that we welcome any and all who may have unique personal accomplishments. Here’s to you Chris Cassidy.
