These days are tough times to be in the US Military because of the ongoing war on terror. In the midst of this there is some good news. Marines will soon be getting a 14 month break between deployments to the Middle East instead of the 7 months that they now get. The current policy is 7 on and 7 off, but due to their meeting personnel numbers requirements active duty marines will be able to get somewhat of a break. Its not a whole lot but at least the Marine Corps did the best that it could for its Marines.
Since I live in a military town and used to be a part of the military, I know the stress that being deployed can cause. It is hard on the soldier, his immediate family, friends, and the community that he or she happens to be a part of. Yes our military personnel understand that it is their job and they do what they have to do but even Superman would be stressed somewhat. Times with this war on terror are just hard right now. I know Army soldiers who have been deployed 4 times or more. The Army is trying to give them as much of a break as it possibly can but their service is badly needed.
Every time soldiers from here are deployed the sale of Operation Enduring Freedom rings rises dramatically. Those who went want to commemorate this event and creating a custom military service ring is one way to do so.
