It Looks Like The Additional Brigade Will Not Come to Fort Stewart Georgia

In my mind it makes sense to place additional troops here. The area is situated where deployment to Europe, or the Middle East is easiest. Since we are on the eastern seaboard we are close to commercial shipping lanes and sea access is easy. We are also located in close proximity to Hunter Army Airfield which has been used to ferry soldiers back and forth from Iraq ever since Operation Desert Storm.
Fort Stewart has a large training area and is highly developed for training use. I have met and served hundreds of customers over the years with military rings, and have gotten to know so many of the soldiers stationed here. I certainly hope that the powers that be will have a change of heart. Maybe they will look at the situation again and decide that it is in the best intrest of the United States and the US Army to send those extra troops. I also look at the fact that so many of our soldiers have been deployed to the Middle East 3 or 4 times that we need the additional manpower. What do you think about it?
