The Taliban in Afghanistan are Denying Pakastani Support

The Taliban in Afghanistan have pubicly denied that they are getting any support from the Pakistani government and ISI (Pakistani Intellience). I hear them talking but I’m not buying. I believe that the main reason that we are having such a hard time ridding Afghanistan of their influence is because of the help that they are getting from across the border.

I found out in my reading that the ISI were instrumental in the founding of the Taliban and the Pakistani government was one of only three governments which recognized them as a legitimate government. The ISI has also used the Taliban to do much of its clandestine work in that area in the past so there is a close working relationship.

I don’t think that it is official government policy to aid the Taliban but I do believe that there are a number of high level contacts who are sympathetic to their cause and more than willing to help them out.

If you add the fact that most of the countries in the region have such a high amount of anti US sentiment and you can build a very strong circumstantial case against the Pakistanis. These are just a few of the many obstacles that our custom military ring customers have to overcome in order to be victorious.
