The US claims to have killed five more terrorists in Pakistan using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles.
I had called this war the advent of the drone in several recent posts because of the way that they have been used in combat. The drone has emerged to be probably the number one killer of terrorists during Operation Enduring Freedom.
There are numerous military advantages associated with the use of drones but I would say that the biggest advantage that they have offered is the ability to take out al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders.
I am not sure of the tactics that our Air Force ring customers employ when they use drones but from what I can discern it seems that one is used to gather intel and another is used to fire at targets once they have been acquired and verified. Whatever they are doing seems to be working very well.
