Did you know about the Dobley Airstrike?

tomahawkThe Dobley Airstrike is what I believe to be the future shape of the war on terror. It occurred in somalia in 2008 when at least one Tomahawk cruise missile was launched into Dobley Somalia which is near the border with Kenya.
The airstrike was conducted with the purpose of killing a top al-Qaeda leader in Dobley but it is not known if the mission was successful or who the leader was or is.
I believe that this is the future look of the war on terror for several reasons. The first is that we can’t kill off every member of al-Qaeda so there is no need in trying. If we can continue to get the cooperation of the governments of the countries under seige maybe we can keep killing its leaders thus keeping it off balance.
We don’t have the manpower, will of purpose, or resources to fight al-Qaeda in every country. We need to continue to urge governments to step up to the cause. this seems to be our best way of making progress. I just hope that our military ring customers involved in this conflict are hitting their targets.
