The US Beefs up Missile Defense in the Gulf

Posted February 2nd, 2010 by OldWarrior

patriotThe US has quietly built up missile defense in the Persian Gulf as a deterrent to any attempted missile strikes by the Iranian government. You won’t hear very much about the details of this anywhere because the United States has done much of it secretly.

Several Arab countries in the region will not admit to being protected by US Patriot missiles because of anti US sentiments but nevertheless the Patriots are there. You Operation Desert Storm ring customers remember that the Patriot made its debut there but now it has been enhanced and is certainly capable of knocking our any missiles fired from Iran.

Our Navy ring customers who are trained on the Aegis weapons system know that the United States has deployed Aegis ballistic missile cruisers with SM-3 missiles in the Persian Gulf. If you have been following our posts you may remember that the Aegis was used to destroy a space satellite which was falling out of control. If it did that (as many of our military ring customers know) knocking out an Iranian missile should not be a problem at all.
