The US Would Not be Opposed to Peace with the Taliban

Terror warIt seems that one of the aims of the troop surge is to push the Taliban into a mind to negotiate a peace settlement. I have posted on this subject before and it still sounds like a good idea to me. The strategy should be that we kick them in the teeth during the troop surge enough to let them know that they can’t win. Then offer them a way out by use of a negotiated peace settlement. That way they get to save face and get out of the war.

Lets face it. Our goal should not be to destroy the Taliban because tat just isn’t feasible. Lets get on some kind of terms with them and leave their country.

We have wasted many lives in that country and spent an enormous amount of money. On the plus side, this war has forced us to stretch and develop new tactics and equipment. Hopefully Operation Enduring Freedom will go down in history as a major success for my military ring customers and for the people of afghanistan.
