Air Supremacy is the military term used when a nations Air Force has complete dominance and control over the skies of the area where the fighting is taking place. Air supremacy does not mean that the other force doesn’t have operational aircraft, it just means that the force which has supremacy can do just about whatever it wants.
One good recent example of this is theĀ air supremacy that allied forces have always had during operations in the middle east. You Operation Desert Storm Military ring customers may remember how Iraqi pilots were afraid to fly. We have enjoyed air supremacy during operations Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom also. So much so that our drones are ruling the skies over Iraq and Afghanistan. Those custom military ring customers who are serving there now should be well aware of the situation.
One lesson that we have learned which you military ring ground pounders will certainly attest to is that no matter how much air power that you have you still need ground troops to go in and clear the area.
