The Military Rank of Private

U.S. Army Private E-2's Arm PatchAs all of you who have served in the military the private is the lowest ranking soldier. The recruit is known as a PVT or E-1. Normally he or she will be promoted automatically after about six months. This rank is also given sometimes to soldiers who have come under some sort of punishment and have been reduced in rank.

As you custom military ring customers who have been around know the private is the hands and feet of the armed services. That is he is called on to do the work. I have met many smart privates who would use their rank to show that they should not be given responsibility. I’m sure that we have all heard the saying “I’m just a private.” I say that if you are smart enough to know that then you are ready for more responsibility.

The term private was first used during the middle ages to refer to those soldiers who were privately hired to fight. I leave you with this shout out to each and every private all over the world serving in the US armed forces. Take it from the custom military ring man. Without you our armed forces would not be successful. We need you.
