Airborne Forces

parachuteAirborne forces are light infantry who can be dropped into battle because they are designed to be carried into battle with aircraft. The big advantage of Airborne forces is that they can appear quickly almost out of nowhere to wreak havoc on the enemy and behind his lines.

They can be transported in large numbers if necessary which is contingent on the number of aircraft available to transport them.

The biggest disadvantage of using airborne forces is that they can’t carry much equipment so they are not good for sustained operations. The numbers of airborne forces has decreased since the advent of the helicopter. Airmobile forces are transported by helicopters and are used in much the same way as airborne forces. The premier airborne Division in the US Army is the 82nd Airborne Division, and the premier airmobile Division is the 101st. We have the custom military designs available to do both the Paratrooper’s ring and the airmobile ring for any of you out there who has been involved with either of these two types of military units.
