Operation Harekata Yolo I and II

operationThis operation was the first major offensive in northern Afghanistan which was led by elements of NATO and Afghan government forces. It was more of a response to Taliban threats of increasing their operations in the northern part of the country.

The first part of the operation was directed at Taliban fighters in and around the Badakhshan province while the second part of the operation was directed at the Taliban in the Ghowrmach district.

Both operations were successful in creating enemy casualties with very few friendly casualties. This is another story that a custom military ring can tell. We don’t know how many individual stories are contained in the bigger story, but each and every participant has his own set of circumstances which the world may never know about.
