air national guardThe Air National Guard is no different from any other type of National Guard unit in that they may be called up in time of emergencies for disaster assistance. They may also be called to active duty in the time of a national emergency or emminent threat.

Each state and the territories of Guam, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Has its own Air National Guard.

From my time in service I know that the Air National Guard was used a lot to support our military training exercises. They are more often called up for active duty requirements because Air Power is used more often than regular ground troops. Air National Guard pilots have to maintain a training edge because the requirements of being a pilot require much more training time than just about any other job.

The pilots of the Air National Guard maintain their training edge in times of peace because they may be called up for war at just about any time. Most pilots wear some type of Pilots ring to tell the story of their profession. You can create a custom Air National Guard ring for yourself or a loved one if you serve with the Air National Guard.
