We just want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all of our Vietnam Veterans both living and dead. We appreciate all that you left on the battlefields of that country while you were serving your own country. The nation did not learn to appreciate you as it should.
We the Veterans of later wars were the beneficiary of the abuse that was heaped on you becauce our American people did show us great appreciation, but I think most of it was because we realized that we didn’t do it for you.
You served in the harshest, dirtiest, most unforgiving environment that anyone could possibly imagine. This was the first time that this country had encountered guerilla warfare so military tactics had to be changed. Many times your weapons were untested, and many times they wouldn’t operate.
We give you our biggest thank you, and God bless you. We can’t offer you anything that would change the past, but we can help you commemorate those events, times, and places that you wish to remember with a gold Vietnam Veteran’s ring.
