We need more Special Operations soldiers to serve in all branches of our military. The nature of warfare has changed for us over the last few years and the type of warfare that we are involved in now requires many more of the skills that these operators bring to the table.
The projected growth rates for our Special Operations units does not meet the projected demand in the upcoming years. For one thing this type of individual is a rare find, it also takes a lot of time and money to train these servicemen. Training can’t be compromised for numbers as it can sometimes be done with regular soldiers. These soldiers will also need more surveillance equipment in order to operate in the way that is required of them.
One thing that has been done is that more non US citizens have been recruited for these assignments. This has helped somewhat, but I have my suggestions also. Since I am not a person who really has any power to do anything I can tell you all my solution since this is my blog.
We could maybe use conventional forces to take some of the duties that these Special Ops forces normally have. I am sure that there are some things that can be pawned off on conventional forces even if it would require a little bit of special training. Maybe we could also use some of the Old Warriors in very limited roles to take some of the pressure off of the special operators. So there you have the opinion of the military ring man. Take it for whatever it is worth to you.
