New Weapons will soon be Introduced to the US Military

50 cal machine gunThere are two weapons soon to be introduced to the US Military which will dramatically increase the firepower and lighten the load of the US Infantry soldier or Marine.

The first weapon is the DXM-25 Counter Defilade Target Engagement System. This is the closest thing to a smart rifle that has been introduced so far. This weapon will hold a 5 round magazine of 25mm dual-warhead ammunition. The closest thing that you can compare this weapon to is the M-16 rifle with a 203mm grenade launcher attached. The difference is that with this system the soldier can lase the target to get a range and fire the round which will explode over the target. Ain’t that a kick.

The next is a replacement for the .50 cal machine gun which is shown on the picture above. It is called a Lightweight .50 caliber machine gun. The lightweight machine gun weighs about half of the 128 pounds of the older version (which is so reliable that it has been in service since the 1920′s). It also has 60% less recoil and a better sighting system which will make it more accurate and deadly since the soldier will not have to readjust the aim after each shot.

The .50 caliber machine gun has proved its worth over the years as a heavy machine gun. It is well loved and perferred because of its stopping power and reliability. These new systems will be welcome additions to the military inventory. They will also cause us to have to work harder to come up with more designs for the custom military rings that we offer. I consider that to be a good problem and look forward to it.
