Sergeant Miller’s Big Vietnam Lie

Posted October 16th, 2008 by OldWarrior

Sgt Miller once told me the story of one of his Vietnam experiences. I will tell you exactly what he told me and let you be the judge.

Sgt Miller was a passenger in a C130 which began to have serious engine problems and began to go down. Since he is a fairly intelligent guy, and resourceful, he quickly figured out a way to convert his field jacketĀ into a field expedient parachute. He exited the aircract over some pine trees and landed successfully. He survived obviously, but had to have some pine needles surgically removed from a certain part of his anatomy. Now I am willing to bet you that we could figure out a way to commemorate this event with a Vietnam Ring. That way he would get to tell this story over and over again.
