The Lawyers for Captured Pirates Want the Charges Dropped

Posted June 25th, 2010 by OldWarrior

The lawyers for the six captured pirates who mistakenly attempted to knock off the USS Ashland are up to their best lawyer tricks. They claim that since the pirates didn’t nactually take over the ship or rob it they technically did not commit any acts of piracy. They get this idea from an 1820 definition of piracy. According to the 1820 case piracy is the taking over or robbing of a ship. So since the pirates were not able to take the ship over or rob it they didn’t complete an act of piracy.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone who was high on something? When they think that what they are saying is making all of the sense in the world. And then they believe their own BS. Well this is what that arguement sounds like too me. These boys are on the high speed drugs.

Let me really run the deal down to you my precious custom military ring customers. These guys will throw up whatever kind of an arguement that they can dream up. They know that the case against their clients is strong, so they are going to blow every bit of smoke up everyones butt that they can. They are hoping to get their clients off on some kind of technicality.

Incidentally the sentence for piracy is life. The prosecuting attorney will have no problem putting them away if he doesn’t make any dumb mistakes.
