Events in IraqOperation Iraqi Freedom or The Second Gulf War began on March 20 2003 with the invasion of Iraq with a multinational force primarily composed of soldiers from the US and Great Britain. The stated purpose of the war was to remove weapons of mass destruction from Iraq which posed a preceived threat against the invading countries. This invasion successfully toppled the regime of Saddam Hussein. Mr Hussein was later captured and executed. Under the Status of Forces Agreement of 2008 all US soldiers will be out of Iraq bu Dec 31 2011.
