It seems to me that this action would be a perfect way to setup a preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities and suspected weapons sites.
Its probably not the prelude to a US or Israeli led strike on Iran but it very easily could be.
As a matter of fact if I were the Commander in Chief I would certainly be tempted to do so. The fact that a strike will have to be conducted grows larger each day so what better time ane opportunity would we have other than right now.
If we strike them now it would be the best option since the element of surprise has been lost. Why not go ahead while we have forces in place to either sustain the attack and contain any response that the Iranians may attempt to mount.
I suspect that this action is more of a show of force than anything else but it certainly isn’t a bluff. I don’t know how close the Iranian government is to reality but I certainly hope that they understand there is no way that we allow them to block the flow of oil through the Straits of Hormuz.
