The design that you see here is the official insignia of the Second Marine Division. The Second Division is headquartered in Camp LeJuene North Carolina. The infantry division is the part of the Second Marine Expeditionary Force which has the job of going in on the ground and rooting the enemy out of the territory that they need to acquire. The rest of the force essentially works for the Second Division in that their function is to support the ground attack.As I looked at the organizational chart of the division I noticed that it is heavier than the 1st and 3rd divisions. It consists of four regiments, an amphibious assault battalion, a combat engineer battalion, a reconnaissance battalion, a light armored reconnaissance battalion, and a tank battalion.
