Has Technology Outrun our Navy Troops?

x47b-truman-600x400outrun our troops in every branch of the armed services. There are so many ideas that never get to the field because they are not beneficial to more troops at a time. I have also seen many good ideas left off for funding because of the expense which would be incurred by fielding them.

I personally believe that when it comes to giving our combat troops an advantage on the battle field that we should use any and every possible means to do so. It has become evident to the Navy’s top officer that a disparity is appearing between what is available to troops and the potential of its forces.

I believe that the individual troop is not necessarily the problem causing the disparity, but rather the problem is in modernizing the delivery systems. One example of this exists with the development of the rail gun. The rail gun is a very powerful weapon which would dramatically increase the lethality of any ship or platform where it is used, but there has to be a major change of the delivery systems of any ship on which it is ti be used. This makes the price of using it absolutely astronomical.

That gap is just now beginning to widen because of technological advances and will continue to do so. One good thing is that the good fixes which can’t be applied because of cost will always be there if we ever have to go to war again. I believe that we should continue to develop our technology regardless because I can foresee the day when our Navy will need all of the help possible.

The chinese Navy has began to militarize and would be very difficult to defeat in any conflict simply because of size.

How Good is the Navy’s new Submarine Hunter?

poseidon-flares-600x400service because of the nature of the job. It requires secrecy because stealth is the biggest asset that a submarine possesses. They are difficult to locate because they remain hidden most of the time beneath the depths of the ocean. The ocean is so vast that even if they were not stealthy at all locating them would remain a problem.

The Navy has used ships to help locate enemy subs but they have discovered that aircraft are a better resource for this task since they are capable of covering a tremendous area. The aircraft want to be stealthy also because if the submarine commander knows they are looking he will utilize every available tactic at his command in order to remain hidden.

These aircraft are used for many other missions because of their stealth capabilities, so we don’t really know their overall capabilities. The Navy must be pleased with their performance because it is constructing many more of them for future service.

Each jet carries 129 devices called sonobuoys. these devices are dropped from the plane where they float and monitor sounds in the ocean to detect submarines which may be hiding in deep water or passing through the area. The planes may also be used to drop depth charges, torpedoes, and fire harpoon missiles at ships.

sailors who serve as crewmen on these aircraft are extremely confident in the ability of the Poseidon to do it’s job. The Poseidon typically has a crew consisting of nine sailors, three pilots, two flight officers and four technicians who track radars, acoustic devices, cameras and electronic communications signals.

Harrier Jump Jets are being used Against ISIS

support naval infantry. Another term used to describe the Harrier is “Jump Jet,” because it can take off and land on a relatively small runway, or no runway at all. It is being used in the fight against ISIS in Iraq, and has been a key component of the advances that the Iraqi Security Forces.

Harriers were designed to support the Island hopping tactics of naval warfare. They are able to land in and take off from small clearings which negates the need for runways. They can operate to support infantry without having to go through the trouble of constructing runways which is costly, time consuming, and leaves the workers vulnerable to enemy attack as they work.

Ground support Harriers are able to keep up with the battle so that infantry troops will have continual air support as they advance. Harriers can even remain in the clearings that they land on to be sort of a quick reaction force able to respond almost instantly in times of trouble. this saves on the extra time, fuel, wear and tear, and necessary maintenance which may be necessary should the jet have to go to a rear based carrier before returning to the battle. If the commander decides to use his Harriers as forward supplied air support he must have a logistics system in place to insure that they are rearmed, and serviced.

Electricity will be used to cause RAP Rounds to Fly Farther

m1128-mobile-gun-600

round has been in use for quite a while. This is a projectile or howitzer shell which has a small rocket motor in it’s base which engages during its flight and extends the distance that it travels. This is advantageous because it increases the distance at which our artillery can engage enemy forces.

Artillery units have to be extremely mobile on the battlefield in order to keep retreating enemy units and advancing friendly units in range. The RAP round cuts the required movement tremendously. In defensive operations the ideal battle plan is to be able to see and range advancing units with artillery as far away as possible so that maximum damage can be inflicted on them before they get to the front lines. artillery units are usually placed forward of front line defenses, or right next to them to do this, which requires them to have to move back as the enemy advances.

The extended distance that the RAP round gives means that artillery units can spend more time supporting the mission with fire rather than being out of action as they move.

The unclassified range of the most effective RAP round is 40 kilometers. The military is experimenting with using electric current to help control the propellant burn. The propellant is the fuel which burns and pushes the round through space. Regulated electric current can be applied at the right time and the amount of current provided can be either increased or decreased during flight to enhance distance.

The round remains in the developmental stage of operation so we are not sure of what the finished product will be like.

Should National Guard Troops be used to Secure our Borders?

th-1

Guard, and even active duty troops as border patrol agents. I believe that the military basic and advanced training that these troops have undergone makes them suitable for supplemental training as border patrol agent assistants.

Military combat troops have been trained to watch, guard, and observe areas for signs of movement and other activity. They know the intricacies of cover and concealment, and should they encounter hostile persons they are trained in both offensive and defensive combat techniques.

I sincerely believe that troops should be used to augment those agents already assigned to protect our southern border. The biggest problem of securing our southern border is that there are vast stretches on land which is not adequately surveiled. US troops would definitely be an asset to assist in watching these areas. They have been trained to remain alert, use communications equipment and, make  the proper reports using correct reporting procedure.

This would save US taxpayers and fill the existing shortage of agents at the same time. Troops should be integrated into existing procedures including the use of drones, and remote sensors.

Drugs will remain a problem as long as Americans maintain their appetite for them and smugglers will always find a way to sneak them through, but the use of troops will certainly help in alleviating the problem by making it more difficult for smugglers.

China continues their Aggression in the South China Sea

p8-south-china-sea-600

stir up trouble” in the disputed South China Sea, while they have been aggressively pursuing the additional resources available in that region. We have talked about their latest campaign of building islands in the middle of the sea in order to claim them as their sovereign territory.

China’s has maintained the claim that the reason why they have built the islands is to “provide public service” to the region by helping ships and fishermen and disaster relief efforts.

They have been feverishly building the islands by piling sand on top of underwater structure which is close to the ocean’s surface. They then add buildings to these structures and have even added airstrips. I believe that the real purpose of these shenanigans is to build military way stations which can be used to support extended operations.

In the event of an extended war in the region these locations can be used to preposition supplies and weapons so that naval units will be able to sustain continuous operations. They specifically deny that military buildup this is their purpose for establishing these outposts. They have also assured the world that they do not intend to back down from the US or anyone else when it comes to the construction of these outposts.

The US has asked them to halt these operations but it has been to no avail. I think that we will be making a grave judgment error if we overlook these actions, or assume that they are not provocative.

B-1 Bombers have seen big use against ISIS

th

those of you who know me have probably realized by now. In this post I want to just give you an idea of the military value and potential of the B-1 Bomber. Let me say beforehand that the US military has equipment which is specifically developed for certain situations. We have graduated from the type of warfare where we would go in and just bomb everything in hopes of taking out whatever enemy troops happened to be there into a warfare which is so  surgical that we can eliminate one or two selected individuals at a time.

Our bombers are extremely effective but troops are needed to finish any battle and to root out all resistance on the ground. This is where the people who inhabit the territories which ISIS is attempting to overtake come  into play. Our Special Forces have been working with  indigenous people in every instance to train them to fight their own battles. Our special Operations troops accompanied by our bombers have combined to exact a terrible toll on ISIS.

We never actually see the action so it is difficult to have an appreciation for what they do, but we have dropped many thousands of bombs and I am sure that we have taken out countless of hundreds of thousands of ISIS fighters.

Russia Agrees to assist France against ISIS

like they would rather be sucking on a smelly sweat sock than shaking each others hand. The question here is not who’s BS’ing who, but rather who is the biggest BS’er. I don’t know these guys but I do know that Putin is probably in the top two or three in the world. The French President may have him beat because the weaker nation has to be more tricky. The weak one can’t slug it out with the big guy, he has to do something dirty like kick him in the balls.

They have made some sort of intelligence sharing agreement which we know has to be a lie on both sides. The good thing is that they are going to put their heads together in cooperation on fighting the war with ISIS so they will cooperate to a certain degree, but I am willing to bet good old US currency that if ISIS promised not to attack one of them he would sell the other one out without much thought.

Putin has conducted military action in Syria under the guise of helping them against ISIS but I just don’t trust his butt for some reason. I have a fairly good BS detector and its beeping incredibly loud right now.

One thing that I do know about the French is that they have a reputation of being really slow to join in a fight unless there is an immediate and direct benefit to them. They have turned their backs many times when we needed them and had no remorse about doing so. If I were president of the US I would wish him well and lose his phone number. I’m just sayin.’ Maybe it’s a good thing that I’m not because our world relations would be totally jacked up.

Putin also managed to make some harsh criticisms about the US when they signed the treaty so I sense an ulterior motive. If he wants France to be his allies against the US he can have them because they don’t believe in helping.

Putin made may other statements also but I won’t go into any of it because it was such obvious BS. Nevertheless, visit our Military Ring website and review our products. Thanks.

Two Navy SEALs give their Lives during Training

pushes our servicemen and woman to their physical and mental limits as it is designed to do. The branches of the military have been doing this for quite a while and they know exactly how far the human mind and body can be pushed before reaching their limitation.

The goal is to push you to your absolute limit so that they will know  that you will be able to survive and function during combat situations and extreme duress, and that you will be aware that your limitations are not as small as you thought they were.

In this case two Navy SEALs drowned practicing holding their breath underwater after they were told not to do so by the instructor. Now this may sound strange to those of you who are not familiar with the mindset of the typical commando but it does not sound strange to me. These troops are extremely competitive and I would not be surprised if they were in completion with each other.

This incident although unfortunate, should show you just how sincere and dedicated these professionals are, and their courage and tenacity. Their attitude towards being the best was extreme, but this is the mindset that we need our Special Operations troops and all other troops to have. They have to defend us against people who are equally fanatical about killing you and your loved ones.

Witnesses who saw them in the pool certified that they were holding their breath while holding onto the sides of the pool, and were both alive and well when last seen. They both probably pushed themselves too close to their limit and passed out from oxygen deprivation. This may have caused they to lose their grip and fall back into the water and drown.

Witnesses came back later and found them both at the bottom of the pool passed out.

I salute these brave warriors with this post. I am not glad that they died but I am thankful that they have such a gung ho attitude.
