This is the first post that we have done on the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. When you think about the military the first thing that comes to mind is the combat soldier. I have been negligent in posting about some of the combat service support branches of the Army so I want to do more in terms of posting news and information about those branches.
Although we don’t readily think about the JAG Corps they are present wherever we have soldiers around the globe. The JAG is composed of lawyers whose purpose is to assist commanders and soldiers in legal matters of all types. The JAG also consists of defense lawyers who provide legal counsel for military personnel, and prosecuting attorneys to execute military justice.
JAG Officers are appointed in a process which is not the same as other military officers. Most have no prior military experience. If a regular officer wishes to become a JAG he or she must be discharged from the military and reappointed. Even though I have neglected to talk about this branch in my blog postings Balfour didn’t forget to add custom designs for their military rings for the customers who want to create a custom Judge Advocate General’s military ring.
