I know that this is nothing new to you Air Force Pilot’s ring customers but it may not be common knowledge to the rest of us custom military ring people so we ask you to bear with us for a minute on this one.
Let me describe MIG Alley for the edification of the rest of us. During the Korean War MIG Alley was the name that Air Force Pilots gave to the Northwestern portion of North Korea where the Yalu River empties into the Yellow Sea. This is the area where most of the dogfights of the Korean War occurred and was the beginning of the era of jet vs jet aerial combat.
Most of the fighting was done by Soviet MIG-25 Fagot, and American F-86 Sabre jet aircraft. Many of the MIG’s were flown by Soviet pilots although the Soviet Union never admitted that their pilots were involved in any way. Soviet pilots and ground crews were based in China to support their operations in North Korea, and their pilots were under strict rules of engagement to keep the fact tat they were involved a secret. There are many conflicting accounts of aerial combat there and there are some discrepancies. A pilots ring would be a good tool to help to document the events of your tour of dutyregardless of which conflict that you served in or where you served. You can create your customized military ring and make it tell the story that you want it to tell.
