Creating Your National Guard Military Ring

September 30, 2009 posted by admin

copy-of-military-ring-pics-011.jpgThis post is to inform you that we have all of the tools for you who are National Guardsmen, or Reservists to create your own custom military ring. We can’t seem to stress this fact enough. The same is true for any type of military ring that you may want to create for yourself.

For example no matter which state that you are from (except Texas) you can place the name of your state and the word National Guard around the stone of your ring. We also have the minuteman design as a laser vue or a side panel. We also have a few of the unit crests from various National Guard and reserve units, however most of our National Guard customers have ordered the crest of the unit that they were attached to as a side panel.

Our National Guard and Reservists serve in the exact same wartime capacity as active duty soldiers, they are getting shot up and dying just as much. They are called on to do their job with little training because they don’t have every day to train as our active duty soldiers do. Our hat is off to you you do your thing well. If you have any questions about what you can do with your ring please do not hesitate to call us at 912-877-6734. If we can get an idea of what you are thinking about we can help you.

Afghan Police say no to US Troop SurgeI can’t really blame them for the way that they feel because after all it is their country and we are the outsiders. On the flip side of the coin we have a job to do and we must use whatever we have at our disposal to defeat the terrorists there. I don’t think that we can ever totally defeat the Taliban because there are just too many places for them to hide, and there are too many adverse factors effecting our forces.

For one thing the Afghan government doesn’t even have control over most of the country, never has, and probably never will so how can an occupying force accomplish control?

We didn’t ask for this war we are just trying to finish it. We should establish a time table for withdrawal based on the establishment of certain goals  and not on the anniliation of our enemies because we can’t kill them all.

The strategy that we are using now is to accompany the Afghan police on their patrols and let them deal with the local populace as much as possible. This strategy is good because it take our forces out of the bad guy role.

This has been a “Let me get my two cents worth in,” episode brought to you courtesy of your Operation Enduring Freedom military ring man. They need to make me president of something, I bet I’ll handle it.

Options for your Personalized Military Ring

September 30, 2009 posted by StylinSoldier

military-ring-pics-010.jpgThe terms personalized and custom are really interchangeable. We normally use the word custom or customized when we talk about the military rings that we offer our customers, but either is correct

Wen you personalize or customize a ring you are making it special just for you. A  personalized ring tells the story that you want it to tell. The story of your service is unique. Your custom or personalized ring will have your own flare and the way that you design it gives it your own personal style. It is a reflection of you. It speaks for you. No two rings will ever be alike.

Here are some of the tools that we have available for your use. The first thing is your name. Even if someone designed a ring almost exactly like yours the name engraved on your ring says that it belongs to you. Then there is the birthstone. You can pick one of fourteen different stones to use. I can’t possibly go through and tell you everything at this time, but we would love to help you each step of the way.

After this you get into unit crests, times and dates of service, unit names, crests, slogans, and mascots to name a few.

A New Crime Wave Has Hit Iraq

September 30, 2009 posted by OldWarrior

Iraq header 2.jpgA severe crime wave is breaking out in Iraq now that our forces are pulling out of the country. Hopefully the Iraqi military and police force will be able to contain the violence but I am sure that it won”t be easy for them to do so.

It seems that most of the violence can be attributed to ex-insurgents, and ex-Iraqi soldiers. Now that they don’t have American soldiers and Marines to fight they are using their murderous skills on innocent civilians.

When they were fighting us they used all kinds of religious rhetoric to excuse their actions. Now they are just committing crimes without excuse. In my definition a thug is just a thug no matter how he tries to hide or disguise it. These criminals are cutting off the heads of innocent men, and children. I wonder what kind of religous reason will they manufacture for doing this.

I want to make a statement here to every bleeding heart who thinks that we should negotiate with these thugs. Hogwash!!! We try to give these people too many rights. Rights are earned by exhibiting responsible behavior. Someone who commits such horrible atrocities has not earned a right to do anything but rot in prison until his execution date.

Take it from us at the custom military ring people. Lets stop cuddling with these dangerous terrorists. Look at the reality of what they do. They kill innocent people, men, women, and children.

What is an RPG?

September 29, 2009 posted by OldWarrior

rpgWe have heard so much about this little monster since the war on terror began that it is almost a common household word for us. We see it on the movies and military documentaries. Well now you are about to get a lesson from the military ring man on exactly what this little monster is and the damage that it can do.

First of all lets start with the name. The Rocket Propelled Grenade is a hand held, shoulder launched, anti-tank weapon which fires a grenade that explodes on contact. The grenade is actually a shaped charge which is launched to its target. It fires either an HE (high explosive) or HEAT (high explosive anti-tank) round. The difference between the two rounds is that the HEAT round has a shaped charge in front that causes a very hot stream of gases to be expelled forward on contact. These gases form a penetrating force which is concentrated in a very small area. This concentration of force is what gives the RPG its power against armor. The HE round is a high explosive round which is designed to shatter on impact and send fragments of metal flying off in all directions. This round is designed to kill people rather than tanks.

The advantages of the RPG is that it is cheaply made, highly effective at close range, easy to use, easy to make, and extremely durable. The biggest disadvantage of this weapon is that it is only accurate at close range. An effective way to use this weapon is to fire a number of them simultaneously.

This weapon is Russian made and has been around since WWII. The origional version was called the RPG II. The version in use now is called the RPG 7.

women in subsThe Navy is seriously considering placing women in submarine crews  and from what I just read its not a matter of if but when. You can take it from the man who produces custom US Navy rings the time is coming soon.

There are several problems that the Navy has to address before this action can be completed. Some of them concern space requirements, fraternization, hygiene and sanitation, and the refitting of submarines to accomodate women sailors along side of the men.

The silent service has been all male since its inception and there will be a lot of growing pains as women begin to infiltrate. There is very little privacy aboard submarines and take it from me men who are locked up together for long periods of time can start to become a little screwy. The guys are going to have to remember that there will be ladies on board.

The first women submariners will probably be assigned to ballistic missile subs because they are less cramped for space and can be more easily changed to accomodate the women.

The 48th BCT Celestrium Military Ring

September 29, 2009 posted by admin

military-ring-pics-011.jpgWe have helped many members of the 48th BCT design custom military rings in the past and we are thankful for all of thr friends and acquaintances that we have made among you over the years. This post is for all of you who may want to create your own Operation Enduring Freedom Ring to tell the story of the outstanding job that you did while you were there. I remember how you all took heavy casualties during Operation Iraqi Freedom and then again during your latest deployment.

The majority of military rings that 48th BCT soldiers have purchased from us were celestrium, or goldtone celestrium rings. We have often put the crest of the 48th BCT or the unit that you were attached to during your tour in Iraq or Afghanistan. One other thing that I want to alert you to is that you can also design your commemorative ring to be a military retirement ring. You may include both campaigns on your ring as the side panel designs and inscribe the words US Army retired around the side panel.

Remember that there is a special discount just for you. You can call us for the discount code when you get ready to order your ring at 912-877-4734 and we will be more than happy to help you.

A Father and Son Will Deploy to Afghanistan Together

September 29, 2009 posted by StylinSoldier

planesThe couple in question happen to be Ltc Bartley O’Toole and one of his two sons, Senior Airman Bartley O’Toole.

Both are located in the same unit which is the 774th Expeditionary Anti-aircraft Squadron. The armed services try all that they can not to place family members in the same unit. During the Civil War local militias were generally composed of most of the male inhabitants of a single area so whenever there was a devastating battle and a lot of losses chances were good that one or more families had lost all of its male members. Believe it or not the concept of leaving surviving male family members to carry on the family name is biblical.

In hard times  hard decisions to have to be made so both Airmen volunteered to go to serve in Operation Enduring Freedom. I would be honored to produce two momentos for them and I guess that you know what I would like to produce rings for them of course and you know that they would be Operation Enduring Freedom Rings.

vietnam memorialThe Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is seeking to find pictures of each veteran listed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial to be displayed in the upcoming Veteran’s Education Center. Solicitations for pictures of the listed veterans will start with family and friends and this is sure to be a project that will take some time. I for one certainly hope that they are successful with this new project because it sounds like a doozy to me.

It is certainly worthwhile because we didn’t give those brave servicemen the honor and recognition that they deserve. It’s too bad that it took us so long to realize the debt of gratitude that we owe them.

There are not many Vietnam Veteran’s Ring customers these days because it was so long ago.

I was not solicited to post this but maybe it will help the fund if I put out that FEDEX will scan the pictures free of charge. I don’t have mush more information than this but if you contact either the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Fund or FEDEX’s office you will be able to get more information.

Army to field New Uniforms for AfghanistanThe Army will field a new uniform for some of its units serving in Operation Enduring Freedom due to the difference of the operating environment in Afghanistan.

The problem is that the current uniform does not fit very well with the mountainous, rocky, snowy environment. Soldiers have complained that the pattern  does not always camouflage them well and that a different pattern and color were needed for better protection. The version of this uniform already being used by Army, and Air Force Special Operation Forces is called MultiCam One. It incorporates a brown, tan, and green camouflage pattern. The version which will be given to the regular Army units will be called the UCP Delta, and it will have coyote tan added to it’s color scheme.

Our Operation Enduring Freedom custom ring customers were issued the ACU uniform recently which I think is a very good pattern. It is and it served us well in Iraq but the military has to constantly change and adapt to fit in with changing times.
