Operation Desert Fox was the codename given to the 1998 US and British bombing campaign against targets in Iraq. The stated purpose of this operation was to weaken Saddam’s base of power in Iraq, and to degrade his ability to manufacture and use weapons of mass destruction.
Now here is where I want to throw in my 2 cents worth. Do you all remember the Rodney King beatdown that President Bush got when we didn’t find any weapons of mass destruction in our last invasion of Iraq? We should keep in mind that President Clinton thought that Saddam had these weapons also. As a matter of fact he thought so strongly enough to bomb the facilities where he thought they were located.
Now you will proceed to ask me, if he had them why didn’t we find them? Well Grasshopper the answer to that is very simple. I will answer you with a question. What do you do with things that you don’t want anyone to find? I know I hide them myself.
When I would buy Christmas gifts for members of my household I would hide them with the house cleaning supplies because I knew no one was going to go there. Well now you will ask where could he have possibly put them. We searched the entire country? My answer to this Grasshopper is that he put them in another country. A place where he knew we wouldn’t be going. Do you remember how Saddam sent his Air Force to Iran during operation Desert Storm? Now Iran has nukes, what a coincidence. We are all creatures of habit.
Getting back to the subject, this operation was declared a success but it still didn’t weaken Saddam enough for him to be overthrown. The US was criticized for this attack and we really don’t know all of the details, but I really don’t think that we bombed Iraq because the President was bored and wanted some excitement. You may or may not agree with my accessment of the situation which is fine, but if one day you discover that it is true remember that the military ring man told you first.
These techniques describe parachute freefall techniques used by the military to insert or deliver personnel and /or equipment into a designated area. HAHO means High Altitude High Opening. This insertion technique is used when personnel are to be dropped into an area that aircraft can not fly over, or when the noise of their chutes opening will alert the enemy to their presence. In a HAHO jump the chutist will actually glide for miles until he reaches a designated spot over the ground. Both these techniques are super stealthy but they are used according to the tactical situation.
In a HALO jump the soldier will freefall and only open his chute when he is close to the ground. This prevents his chute from being seen from the ground during the freefall. If the chute is observed when it opens he will be so close to the ground that he will be able to get out of the area before trouble arrives.
The vast majority of parachutists will jump into an area using a static line. The static line pulls the chute open for the jumper as he or she exits the aircraft. This is the method that conventional paratroopers (regular infantry soldiers) will use. HALO/HAHO techniques are normally used by special operations units. We offer parachute emblems, and badges that we offer our military ring customers who have been or are currently paratroopers. You can create your own paratroopers ring using any of our designs.
We get a lot of traffic from people looking for Retired Vietnam Veterans rings so we decided to write this post for you. Even if you didn’t retire from military service, or just served one tour of duty in Vietnam we can get you fixed up with your custom military ring. We want to give you an idea of some of the options which are available to you.
We offer custom military ring designs for all branches of service who served in Vietnam whether you were in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps. We also offer designs which are Vietnam specific. In addition we give you plenty of space to put in your own personal information, whether it be your name, unit, dates of service, or place of service.
We offer many unit crests for units that served in Vietnam which are not around today. We also give you plenty of space to speak your own mind on your ring. You can write in information on each side of the ring as well as the engraving inside of your ring. Many of our Vietnam veterans will put their affiliation around the stone of the ring.
This still leaves the choice of design that you place inside of your stone. We knew when we designed the web site that we were putting out a whole lot of information, and it can seem to be overwhelming but that is the chance that we took in order to provide you with as many choices as we possibly could.
One thing that we have learned since we first started offering military rings is that our National Guard soldiers are huge customers. We started giving more emphasis to creating custom National Guard rings because of this. Another thing that happened was the War on Terror. Because of this many National Guard units began to be called up for military service. National Guard and Reserve soldiers began to order rings after they would return from their deployment which really improved sales. Because of this we started to give these customers more attention.
If you served in the National Guard or Reserve of any branch of service you have just about the same custom military ring options that any soldier from any other branch of service has. We are proud to be able to give you every avaliable option that we can. We are always looking for other designs to add to our collection.
Its about time that we added this post. We get many customers in the retail store who are looking for USMC retirement rings so we want to take some time to address those custom military ring issues which are important to you.
Whether you retired from the corps or just served one tour we can help you out. Many of our marine corps customers have served in more than one branch of service. If this fits you you can show both branches of service on the same ring. Some served in the Marine Corps but went on to finish out their retirement in another branch of service. Many of the people who fall in this category will put a Marine Corps design on one side, and the other branch design on the opposite side.
They may also mix some of the other options on the ring depending on what they like. We have given you as many ways as we possibly could to design the custom military ring of your dreams. We want you to feel free to tell the story of your military service.
The term “King of Battle refers to the Field Artillery. This term is probably given because of the mass destruction capabilities that Artillery is capable of. Artillery rounds will kill everything within a 50 meter radius of where they impact. There are various ways to use artillery and many different types of artillery pieces, and ammunition.
There are artillery rounds that produce smoke, white phosporus, or shrapnell. Artillery illumination rounds can light up the battlefield at night. There are even artillery rounds which scatter minefields, or destroy vehicles. Artillery can even fire laser guided rounds to kill tanks.
You can see why artillery is called the King of Battle. Smart Tankers or Infantrymen will use artillery as much as they possibly can before they will attempt to engage the target themselves. We have helped many artillerymen create custom military rings to display their affiliation. A military ring is a good way to demonstrate your accomplishments.
Richard “Dick” Marcinko was born in 1940 and is a native of Lansford PA. He is probably known best by the name “Rogue Warrior” which is the character that he writes about in his Rogue Warrior book series.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Marcinko at one of his book signing tours. He seems to be exactly the same as he portrays himself in his books. He is best known as the man who created and commanded Seal Team 6. The general public really dosen’t have a good idea of what this Seal Team’s mission was, but I believe that his writings are a pretty close to accurate portrayal of some of the missions that he was involved in.
Mr. Marcinko has numerous awards for valor and currently serves as the CEO of Red Cell International.
I actually met Mr. Marcinko at the retail store where we sell rings for military personnel which includes Navy Seals. He seems to be an extremely down to earth individual.
The Air National Guard is no different from any other type of National Guard unit in that they may be called up in time of emergencies for disaster assistance. They may also be called to active duty in the time of a national emergency or emminent threat.
Each state and the territories of Guam, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. Has its own Air National Guard.
From my time in service I know that the Air National Guard was used a lot to support our military training exercises. They are more often called up for active duty requirements because Air Power is used more often than regular ground troops. Air National Guard pilots have to maintain a training edge because the requirements of being a pilot require much more training time than just about any other job.
The pilots of the Air National Guard maintain their training edge in times of peace because they may be called up for war at just about any time. Most pilots wear some type of Pilots ring to tell the story of their profession. You can create a custom Air National Guard ring for yourself or a loved one if you serve with the Air National Guard.
The Master Chief Petty Officer is the highest ranking enlisted person in the Navy and the Coast Guard. The other Petty Officer ranks are Chief Petty Officer and Senior Chief Petty Officer.
This rank corresponds to the rank of Sergeant Major in the Army and the Marine Corps. He is the senior enlisted member of the chain of command so just like the Sergeant Major he is the biggest, baddest, meanest, ugliest mutha in the valley.
This rank gets the respect of enlisted and officers. The chief is revered for his knowledge and is considered to be the technical expert in his field.
Official duties of the Chief Petty Officer are to assist the commander in issues regerding: quality of life, discipline, training, and morale. Aboard submarines he is known as the “Chief of the Boat.”
This rank is so vital and the job of the “Master Chief” is so important that we created a side panel design for the customer who wishes to create a custom Navy Master Chiefs ring. This design is just one of many types and styles of military ring designs that we offer.
Choose the Antiqued or the Natural Gold Finish for your Military Ring
One question that we get from our custom military ring customers is, “what type finish should I get for my ring?” Well we will never try to make that decision for you but we will tell you a little bit about each choice.
First of all you have this choice with either our 10kt or 14kt gold rings. This is not an option on our celestrium rings. The celestrium comes with an antiqued finish only.
Antiquing is the dark patina that is added to the gold ring to give it an “antiqued” look. Some of the benefits are that you never have to worry about shining or cleaning the ring. Customization is more visible when it is placed against the antiqued background. I think that this is the reason that more people choose to get the antiquing. You want the custom work to be more clearly visible because the ring is telling the story that you want it to tell.
The natural finish is a shiny gold finish. It has the same lustre as a gold wedding band. Some customers prefer this type of finish. One thing that we want to point out here is that the type of finish that you choose has no effect on the price of the ring. We offer the choice to you as a courtesy. We never try to influence your decision one way or another. We want you to enjoy the product that you design.
