Do you remember a series of posts that I did some months ago warning that we need to keep a closer eye on the Chinese? I talked about their increased military spending and questioned their intentions as reflected by their spending.
Now the Air Force has declared that it needs to update its spy satellite technology in order to keep a better eye on the Chinese. The problem is that much of the satellite technology that we have in space is based on the cold war era so they are trained to observe the northern hemisphere.
We need to get some spy satellites up that will be better able to keep an eye on the Chinese. The space program has been strapped for money so there has not been much needed new technology put into space lately. At least thats what they tell us. We military ring folks here have learned to take all things with a grain of salt when it comes to public statements.
