jsaThis is one of the many memories that I have of my time in the military. unfortunately I didn’t have it placed on my custom military ring.

When I was in the 2nd Infantry Division in Korea we were in the field one winter on one of our many field training exercises. One night we had a late night command and staff meeting. For those of you who haven’t been affliated with the military this a meeting of what we call the head shed. The events of the past are analyzed and plans are laid for the next days. Well at the end of this staff meeting whoever was speaking gave a word of warning to all commanders of a General Officer who would fly around the area in a helicopter and drop in on units unexpectedly. The comment went something like this, “General Smith will be flying around and he will pop up in your location at anytime.” Well one person who didn’t hear piped up with the, “What did you say?”

The answer, given by another and accepted by all was; “There’s a bunch of bull—t flying around and it just might land anywhere.
