Our Operation Enduring Freedom ring customers have thebenefit of the latest airdrop capability of the Air Force. The new technique is called the low cost low altitude air drop (LGL).
When the Air Force uses this technique it delivers smaller amounts of supplies
to smaller units which provides more flexible options to local commanders. Supplies are placed into bundles which weigh between 80 and 500 pounds.
The Air Force ring customers who employ this tactic use disposable parachutes which drastically cuts down on costs.
This is another tactic developed specifically for the operation being conducted in Afghanistan.
I have talked so many times on how different wars cause different military tactics to be developed and this new technique is just one of the benefits of the war in Afghanistan that our custom military ring customers are engaged in right now.
