This gunfight is not what you think that it is, but it is effective nevertheless because three Somali pirates were killed. I am sure though that there are many others who will come in to take their place.
The three pirates were killed in the town of Haradhere after they fought about how to split up a ransome that they had gotten for releasing the crew of a Greek oil tanker which they had successfully detained. The tanker was hijacked along with its crew when it attempted to deliver its 2 million barrels of crude oil to the United States fron Saudi Arabia.
The ransom that the pirates collected is believed to be between 5 and 7 million dollars. Three were reportedly killed and three were reportedly wounded in the altercation. I don’t know if I would have fought too hard over the ransom. 7 million dollars is a lot of money here. Think about how much it is worth over there. I believe that 500,000 would suited me just fine. A smart pirate would just let the others kill each other off and collect whatever is left. http://www.militaryringexpress.com
