The Afghan National Police (ANP)

ANPThe Afghan National Police is the law enforcement agency of that country although it is suffering from many problems of corruption, and drug use at this time. I believe based on what I have read about them and my keen sense of discernment that they will be able to rise to the task of policing that country effectively with the right training.

Keep in mind that the country has been in a state of chaos for a while and the Taliban has had a very strong foothold. I believe that they will be able to respond to the right discipline and structure and rise to the task at hand. I don’t know how many of you military ring customers agree with me but I would bet that more of our operation enduring freedom ring customers serving there will be more inclined to agree.

The ANP has over 75,000 members but the illiteracy rate is about 70%. The basic elements of the ANP are the Afghan Uniform Police, the Afghan Border Police, the Afghan Highway Patrol, and the Criminal Investigation Department.

The military success of Operation Enduring Freedom will depend heavily on the performance of the ANP.
