When I think about the time that I spent in the military the thing that I miss the most was the teamwork. There is such a feeling of satisfaction that a military leader gets when his troops work together to pull off an operation.
Each man has a specific job to do and each job contributes to the mission. If one of them fails the fate of the others will be in jeopardy. Thats the way that military teamwork goes. All of our military ring customers know how to operate as a team.
Sometimes a custom military ring customer will wind up with a group of individuals that he or she has never seen before but each one will know their individual job. they will instantly meld together and perform as a team because they are used to operating as a team.
If I consider all of the things that I miss from my time in the military the teamwork will have to top the list. Military teamwork, (as all of my military ring customers know) can’t be duplicated in the civilian world.
The Question of Should Gays be Allowed to Serve Openly
There is much debate on the don’t ask don’t tell policy of the US military regarding the service of gays in the armed forces.
First of all lets remember that gay men and women have always served in the military and always will. I say that we should not deny anyone the right to serve in the armed forces for any reason other than that person not meeting the minimal physical or mental requirements of military service.
On the other hand we must keep in mind my military ring customers that the military is a unique organization and there are certain rules of order which must be maintained because of the nature of their job. The military is not a organization which can afford to promote indivuality. All must conform to its established and proven protocols.
For example there are dress regulations, haircut regulations, standards of conduct, etc. These have been proven over years to be effective in maintaining military order and can’t be overlooked or relaxed.
Whether a person is gay or not should not be a standard of military service. The terms of the military take precedence over the likes or dislikes of the individual. Anyone who meets the standards that the military required should be allowed to serve, but sexual orientation can’t be flaunted. A soldier either male or female should look and behave like a soldier.
I came up with the idea of doing this post this morning after I ran into one of my customers from waaay back. Sergeant Major Kaiser came to me after he had returned from the first Operation Iraqi Freedom to have a military ring made. He, his wife, and I worked on the custom military ring for awhile and I got to know them during the process of us putting it together. He needed his custom military ring to be his military retirement ring also because he was in the process of putting in his retirement papers.
We worked until we got him exactly what he wanted and his wife presented it to him at his retirement that next month. That was back in 2001 if I remember correctly. I just happened to run into him this morning at a convenience store and asked him how the ring was holding up. I was happy as a lark when I found out that his ring was just fine. He had no complaints whatsoever. Now my beloved military ring customers that is what I’m talking about.
This is a true story. We want you to rest assured that when you get your ring from us you will never have a problem that we can’t resolve.
Operation Enduring Seperation has been an ongoing operation which effects every branch of the Armed Forces and touches every family member regardless of age, race, sex, religion, or ethnicity.
Operation Enduring Seperation touches each and every one of my military ring customers, whether they are Army ring customers, Navy ring customers, Air Force ring customers, Marine ring customers, Coast Guard ring customers, etc. It doesn’t matter if they are Navy SEAL ring, customers, Special Forces ring customers, Delta Force, Army Rangers, Force Recon or what have you.
Operation Enduring Seperation speaks for the time when troops are seperated from their loved ones while discharging their sworn duties to their country. It speaks for the time that they have spent sleeping on the ground on top of ice and snow. It speaks for each and every wet and miserable experience that they have ever gone through while serving their country. It speaks for the times they have been caught in dust storms, rainstorms, blizzards, and heat waves.
This operation speaks especially for the times that they have been seperated from their husbands, wives, and children for months at a time. It speaks of the father of that new born who is now a year old and doesn’t even recognize him when he sees him.
It speaks for the mother who has just been moved to a place that she knows nothing about when her husband had to leave as soon as they got there. It speaks of her survival with several small children, a salary too small to even feed them, and a husband who is too far away to be of any help. It speaks further of the time that that husband finds that he will have to stay deployed for an extra six months, he only found out a few days before he was to return back home.
We need the support of every American man, woman, and child for those who have to participate in operation enduring seperation. Support our troops.
I have never seen this docudrama, but from what I have read about it I feel that every soldier, marine, sailor, and airman should check it out as I will when I am able.
From what I have read this docudrama depicts life in the 92nd Buffalo Division during WWII. For those of you military ring customers who may not be familiar with the term “buffalo” it is a term which used to be applied to American soldiers of African descent.
Inside Buffalo tells the story of an army which was vastly different from our Army of today. In the 1940’s according to the account given by 92nd Division veteran Joseph Stephenson there was a quota set for the number of blacks that the Army would accept. He had to apply to every buffalo soldier unit that he could find in order to be admitted into the military. When ha was accepted he never went through basic training.
Our military has come a long way since that time. Now we have a multicultural military. We have sold military rings to people of many different heritages, and races. I would always feel proud when we deployed to other countries and they were able to see that America is truly a meltingpot for all people.
The term “zone of fire” refers to the area of responsibility which is assigned to military weapons in actual combat.
Contrary to probably what popular belief is, every person who fires a military weapon in combat form the rifleman up to the most advanced fighter jet pilot is assigned an area of responsibility for his weapon. Troops don’t ordinarily just shoot at whatever target that they happen to see. They are assigned a zone or sector to watch. The individual soldier or fighter pilot, etc. is responsible for killing everything unfriendly in his zone.
So now I hear you thinking grasshopper. You are saying what if a soldier gets killed and can’t cover his zone effectively? Well the answer to that is very simple. The zones overlap so that half of your zone is covered by the person on the opposite side of you if you are an infantry ring customer. If you are one of my pilot’s ring customers you will have an assigned area on the ground to use your weapons. If you are a pilot who didn’t get to use his weapons you may be given another zone with known enemy positions or you may proceed to the free fire area where you can fire at any target which presents itself.
The US Coast Guard has been the topic of many blog posts here over the years. We have told stories of many of the drug interdictions and criminal apprehensions that they have conducted.
The job and functions of the US Coast Guard are necessary and vital to our countries security and the well being of the American people. Since the Coast Guard is not necessarily a combat military branch of service you don’t see their work mentioned a whole lot. Their mission is just a little bit different but everyone knows just how vital it is to our national defense.
There are a total of 69 different side panel designs available to you if you want to design a US Coast Guard ring. The Freedom Coast Guard ring is available as either a 10kt gold military ring, a 14kt gold military ring, and it also is available in sterling silver and celestrium.
The Freedom Coast Guard ring has a round face and is a popular design for both men and women.
The US Coast Guard Independance Military Ring
We want all of our Coast Guard ring customers to know that we have given you equal representation in the custom military ring world. We can serve you regardless of your rank and regardless of whether you serve on a ship or on shore.
Although your missons are slightly different during peace time we feel that deserve a whole lot more recognition than what you normally get.
We have done many posts in the past on some of the rescues and drug interdiction missions that you accomplish as a matter of routine. Much of the world never hears about the operations that you conduct but we try to post regular articles on much of what you do everyday.
All of the other branches of service must train everyday, but we don’t have real missions everyday like you do. If any of you Coast Guard ring customers know of a significant event that we should write about please let us know and we will try our best to make it happen.
The Ladies Freedom Ring is the ring that was designed with
the Coast Guard woman in mind. This ring is smaller which gives it a more lady like appeal. It comes in every metal choice that the men’s rings offer and you can put almost the same amount of customization on this ring.
As you can see by the picture here you can choose the metal for your ring based on your own personal preference. We try to give you all that we possibly can for the design of your custom military ring.
You can wear your ring both in and out of uniform. It goes well with uniform dress ocassions and during those times that you want to wear casual clothing.
We will also tell you that we don’t charge you anything extra for the customization that you choose for the ring. There is almost no limit to what you can do.
Create a Military Retirement Ring to Commemorate Your Service
Retirement is a very special time for the person who has made the military a career and should be commemorated with a special piece of military jewelry. Many of the military ring customers that I get are retirees who want to design a custom military retirement ring.
It normally takes them a while to figure out exactly what they want since they have done so much during their time in service. The person in the picture above is one such customer. You can see the joy on his face. He is joyful to be retiring and glad to have his new ring.
There are so many ways that you can design your military ring that I like to listen to the customer tell the parts of the story that he or she wants to tell. Then I like to figure out a way to piece all of it together onto a custom military ring.
Most of the customers that you see in these pictuers are army ring customers because we were located on an army base. We can design marine corps rings, air force rings, and navy rings also.
