The Ex MI5 Chief says the US was not Forthcoming with Details
Eliza Manningham-Buller who is the retired head of MI5 (British Intelligence) says that the United States was not forthcoming with the truth about how it treated some of the terror detainees which we captured from time to time.
The issue revolves mainly around al-Qaeda mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammad and the fact that he was waterboarded 160 times to get information.
Now this is a two sided issue with me. On the one hand the information that we got out of Mr Mohammed undoubtedly saved many American and British lives. The life of one American is far more valuable than the comfort of a terrorist in my opinion. It would not have bothered me if he had been waterboarded 1,000 times. The main thing that our government must do is to protect innocents from terror attack.
The problem is how do you know before hand that the person that you plan on torturing is a terrorist and not an innocent civilian instead of a criminal. Thats the real kicker.
I think that part of the revelation of this mistreatment by Buller is to keep some of the heat directed elsewhere and not at home. I can’t believe that this knowledge was very much of a surprise to MI5 because it wasn’t much of a surprise to me. http://www.militaryringexpress.com/products
Insurents are Trying to Disrupt Voting in Iraq
Insurgents in Iraq are doing everything in their power to disrupt the ongoing election and discredit the new governmnt in Iraq. I feel totally confident that the new government will stand and deliver for the Iraqi people.
Insurgents were not able to disrupt the operation of the new government prior to this time and quite frankly I don’t think that they can. The adversity that the Iraqi government is suffering now will only serve to strengthen their resolve. The Iraqi people survived Saddam Hussein and two seperate wars with us so I’m sure that they will get through this.
Our military ring customers who are veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom did an excellent job of transitioning to a different role of facilitator rather than soldier during this war.
I wrote a post a little while back where I stated that the Iraqi government will stand. Now there is no doubt in my mind that they will. They ave been around long enough to put down some roots. It will be interesting to see what the terrorists will try to throw at them when we leave. We wish the best to all of our military ring customers who are a part of the new Iraq and to every Iraqi citizen.
The Story of the 332d Air Expeditionary Wing
The 332d AEW is currently on duty in Balad Iraq where the unit is given the charge of maintaining air superoirity over the skies of Iraq.
The present unit is the descendant of the 332d fighter wing which was established in Tuskegee Alabama in 1942 and was composed of the Army’s first black pilots. The original name for the unit was the “Red Tailed Angels.” The first aircraft that this unit flew were the P-40 Warhawk. They were later transitioned to the P-47 Thunderbolts, and finally to the P-51 Mustang which gave them the ability to fly longer range missions.
The current unit was activated in 1998 as the 332d Air Expeditionary Group and eventually ended up in Balad. The unit’s organic equipment is much different now than when it was first activated.
The 332nd now consists of F-16 fighters, A-10 ground support aircraft, C103 transport aircraft, HH-60 Pave Hawk Helicopters for search and rescue missions, and MQ-1 Predators to conduct tactical surveillance and reconnaissance.
The Air Force ring customers honor the original Tuskegee Airmen with their motto…”Tuskegee Airmen…The Legend Continues…”
I came up with the idea of doing this post this morning after I ran into one of my customers from waaay back. Sergeant Major Kaiser came to me after he had returned from the first Operation Iraqi Freedom to have a military ring made. He, his wife, and I worked on the custom military ring for awhile and I got to know them during the process of us putting it together. He needed his custom military ring to be his military retirement ring also because he was in the process of putting in his retirement papers.
We worked until we got him exactly what he wanted and his wife presented it to him at his retirement that next month. That was back in 2001 if I remember correctly. I just happened to run into him this morning at a convenience store and asked him how the ring was holding up. I was happy as a lark when I found out that his ring was just fine. He had no complaints whatsoever. Now my beloved military ring customers that is what I’m talking about.
This is a true story. We want you to rest assured that when you get your ring from us you will never have a problem that we can’t resolve.
Another Suicide Bomber has Struck in Iraq
This story is the latest in the Iraqi Freedom saga which involves terrorist attempts to destabilize its new government. We have done several posts on this topic in the past and we know that the new Iraqi government is in for a hard trial if it is to stand. They have done a wonderful job thus far but there is a long trial ahead of them.
I was talking to a military ring customer two days ago who was on leave from Iraq and he was dropping some knowledge on me of some of the current goings on in Iraq. Our military ring customers have done an admirable job over there as I have talked to a number of them.
There are also a lot of reservists coming back home now and we wish them the best also.
The suicide bombing that we are referring to was an attack on the police crime lab in Baghdad and killed 2 people. There were also many others wounded with the majority of the dead being police officers. I want to give the new Iraqi government a shout out here and some encouraging words. We certainly wish you the best in all things.
The notorius cousin of Saddam Hussein has been executed in Iraq. Ali Hassan al-Majid who was affectionately known as “Chemical Ali’ was executed monday for his role in using chemical weapons on the Kurdish town of Halabja which resulted in the deaths of more than 5,000 innocent Kurds back in 1988. This was the largest number of people ever killed an a chemical attack
Ali was sentenced to death for his involvement in four seperate incidents. In other words he had four different death sentences on his head. For justice to really be done he would have to be revived and executed three more times. Ali was held in US custody until about a day before his execution when he was turned over to the Iraqis.
There was a rush of suicide bombings in Iraq just as he was executed. Three seperate bombings at the Sheraton, Babylon, and Hamra hotels resulted in 37 people killed and 104 injured. http://www.militaryringexpress.com
Operation Enduring Seperation has been an ongoing operation which effects every branch of the Armed Forces and touches every family member regardless of age, race, sex, religion, or ethnicity.
Operation Enduring Seperation touches each and every one of my military ring customers, whether they are Army ring customers, Navy ring customers, Air Force ring customers, Marine ring customers, Coast Guard ring customers, etc. It doesn’t matter if they are Navy SEAL ring, customers, Special Forces ring customers, Delta Force, Army Rangers, Force Recon or what have you.
Operation Enduring Seperation speaks for the time when troops are seperated from their loved ones while discharging their sworn duties to their country. It speaks for the time that they have spent sleeping on the ground on top of ice and snow. It speaks for each and every wet and miserable experience that they have ever gone through while serving their country. It speaks for the times they have been caught in dust storms, rainstorms, blizzards, and heat waves.
This operation speaks especially for the times that they have been seperated from their husbands, wives, and children for months at a time. It speaks of the father of that new born who is now a year old and doesn’t even recognize him when he sees him.
It speaks for the mother who has just been moved to a place that she knows nothing about when her husband had to leave as soon as they got there. It speaks of her survival with several small children, a salary too small to even feed them, and a husband who is too far away to be of any help. It speaks further of the time that that husband finds that he will have to stay deployed for an extra six months, he only found out a few days before he was to return back home.
We need the support of every American man, woman, and child for those who have to participate in operation enduring seperation. Support our troops.
It Appears that the Insurgency in Iraq is Over
For all intents and purposes it appears that the insurgenncy in Iraq is over. There is still some sporadic action but that will probably be the case for a long time to come. Our military has done a marvelous job in clearing up the insurgency.
The fate of Iraq is now in the hands of their new government. They will have some problems in the future but problems are a way of life. the Iraqis should be able to stand with our help and their continued committment.
Our troops had to transition to a whole new way of warfare during Operation Iraqi Freedon. They also had to make the transition from soldier to police force which they also did. They showed versatility, and ingenuity during this operation.
Unfortunately many of our troops have given their lives in support of this operation. The Iraqi and the American people have a debt of gratitude that we can never repay to these fallen warriors.
Accept the condolences of the custom military ring man for each and every soldier, sailor, airman and marine who has served in this conflict. You deserve our appreciation.
Create a Military Retirement Ring to Commemorate Your Service
Retirement is a very special time for the person who has made the military a career and should be commemorated with a special piece of military jewelry. Many of the military ring customers that I get are retirees who want to design a custom military retirement ring.
It normally takes them a while to figure out exactly what they want since they have done so much during their time in service. The person in the picture above is one such customer. You can see the joy on his face. He is joyful to be retiring and glad to have his new ring.
There are so many ways that you can design your military ring that I like to listen to the customer tell the parts of the story that he or she wants to tell. Then I like to figure out a way to piece all of it together onto a custom military ring.
Most of the customers that you see in these pictuers are army ring customers because we were located on an army base. We can design marine corps rings, air force rings, and navy rings also.
Most Military Ring Customers Choose Celestrium
Most of the military ring customers that we have choose celestrium as their metal for very good reason. First of all if you are a younger soldier like the gentleman and his family pictured here you may be on a tight budget. If this is so you can design a celestrium military ring because it looks almost exactly like the gold ring. I know how to tell the difference because I have dealt with all of the metals for quite a while but most people can’t.
The celestrium military ring is more durable than gold and it is a good choice when you plan to wear your military ring every day. Jewelers love this metal because it is so easy to mold and work with, yet it is exceptionally strong. It is good to purchase early in your military career because you may want to design a gold military ring later on. Most of my older customers who are about to make their last military ring purchase will want either the 10 or 14kt gold military ring.
