Military Ring Info

The Russian prime minister has announced their plans to produce a new long range stealth bomber.  This will be the Russians first stealth bomber and its second stealth airplane. Production of the actual bomber will probably begin in 2025-2030. 

Now my military ring customers in my humble opinion the fact that Russia is just getting to the point of producing stealth technology shows how much they have suffered from the collapse of their economy. This is a far cry from the days of the cold war that I remember. When the Soviets and the US were involved in the arms race they would almost immediately acquire and duplicate US technology but obviously times are tough for them.

The new strategic bomber that they will have is designed to replace their TU-95 andTU-160 bombers.

I think that we can safely say that the cold war years that us older warriors remember are long gone. No more two super powers attempting to match each other tit for tat. You younger military ring customers who may not have been around during those days but our training doctrine was much different than it is today. Our strategy was to fight outnumbered and win because the WARSAW pact countries outnumbered us in every category of equipment and personnel. During those days we knew that in the event of a war with Russia we would probably have to use battlefield nukes.

The Iranians have announced that they will produce two different drones for surveillance and at least one of the drones will be able to launch long range missile attacks. At least that is what they are saying.

The underlying purpose seems to me to be to spy on and attack Israel. There are no other countries in the region which they need long range drones to surveil and attack.

One way that I see this and maybe many of my military ring customers agree with me is this. Imation is the sincerest form of flattery. The fact that the Iranians feel that they need to produce drones is a testament to the job that they must be doing against terrorists.

The names of the drones will be Ra’d which means thunder. Obviously this will be the drone to launch missiles, and Nazir (herald).

The Iranians are also looking to beef up their air defenses. You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out. they want an enhanced capability against Israeli air strikes.

The AirSea Battle is a concept for fighting a future war with China. This strategy is based on the types of weapons that the Chinese are procuring at a rapid pace and looks at what we need to do to defeat them.

I am not saying that the US and the Chinese are going to war at any time but my beloved military ring customer we must plan for each and every contingency lest something happens and we are caught by surprise.

Military forces must be adapted to fight current and future battles. You can’t use past tactics and equipment to fight a present or future war. Just look at our situation now. Look at the war that my Desert Storm Military Ring Customers and the war that my Iraqi Freedom Ring customers had to fight. Those wars are totally different from the war that my Enduring Freedom Ring customers are currently fighting.

If you go back to Vietnam, those military ring customers fought an all together different type of war. Military tactics, plans, and equipment must constantly change and adapt to the current situation. 

The Precision Guided Mortar Munition is a new mortar round which the Army is developing. This new round will increase mortar accuracy enough to take out point or hard targets. This is very significant to me for two reasons.

Not all of you custom military ring customers are aware that is is difficult to get direct hits on targets with mortars. A mortar is an indirect fire weapon which kills be showering shrapnel on the target, not by hitting the target directly. In addition the mortar fires a high angle trajectory. Now my military ring customers who are fire direction specialists understand the ramifications of this but most other military ring customers probably don’t. What this means is that when a mortar fires a shell it fires it into the air at an angle greater than 45 degrees so the shell travels more distance up into the air than it travels across the ground. While it is in the air it is buffeted more by the wind and weather effects. This causes it to be moved around and thrown off course. Many of these factors can be identified and corrected before it is fired but there is still an effect.

The next good thing about the precision guided munition is that it gives the lower level commander an option to use a precision weapon. Normally precision weapons are only used by division level commanders and higher. The precision mortar will give the task force and company level commanders the opportunity to take advantage of precision bombs.

The Army is fielding a family of vehicles called manned ground vehicles MGV. The MGV will perform many of the functions that the Army now uses different types of vehicles to perform but they will all have the same chassis so the majority of their parts etc. will be interchangeable.

These vehicles will be lighter and more mobile than the current vehicles that the Army uses to perform the same functions. At the same time they will employ better technology and better firepower. Advanced technology will also give them very good protection from enemy weapons even though they will be smaller.

Another advantage is that they will be easier to transport because of their smaller size and lighter weight. This will enable the Army to move soldiers and equipment to the place where they are needed quickly and easily. They will also be able to snuff out small fires wherever they may occur.

There are several of these vechiles which we will mention here today they are;

1) The Reconnaissance and Survey Vehicle (RSV) which will be outfitted with sensors which will give it the capability to conduct day and night all weather intelligence gathering missions. I imagine that this vehicle will be used as a scout vehicle for our custom army ring customers who are scouts.

2) The Mounted Combat System (MCS) which is a small version of the tank. This vehicle will have the capability to fire at targets out to 5 miles which will be beyond its line of sight (BLOS). All of our tanker ring customers will be proud of this one.

3) The Non Line of Sight Cannon which is a 155mm cannon. This cannon will have the capability to fire 155mm artillery rounds faster than the current 155mm artillery pieces that the Army currently uses. This artillery piece is so good that it has the capability to fire multiple rounds and have them to impact simultaneously. It does this by shooting each round at a different trajectory. The field artillery ring customers who use this piece of equipment will be able to accomplish more with less personnel.

4) The Non Line of Sight Mortar which is a high angle firing system. The mortar has the ability to fire rounds over the top of mountains or high hills and hit a target on the backside. Our infantry ring customers who are mortarmen will be even more flexible in their ability to perform their mission.

5) The Field Recovery and Maintenance Vehicle (FRMV) will be used to remove broken down or damaged vehicles from the battlefield. It will have a 2-3 man crew of mechanics who can perform quick fixes or evacuate the vehicle and its crew to the rear for higher level repairs. Our military mechanics ring customers will be able to respond faster and provide maintenance support far forward then in the past.

6) The Infantry carrier vehicle (ICV) will carry a crew of 2 along with a 9 man infantry squad. It will be armed with a 30mm MK-14 cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun. It will able to perform day or night and during all types of weather. The infantry ring customers that it carries will have a weapons platform to support them when they dismount.

7) The Medical Vehicle will be able to provide advanced trauma care and life support right on the battlefield. This will be a wonderful addition and will certainly save lives. It will also be used to evacuate the wounded or injured to the rear for even more advanced medical care.

The Command and Control vehicle will be used to maintain command and control on the battlefield. It will be equipped with advanced sensors and communications to help the commander to manage the battlefield. We will have to integrate the design of this vehicle into our military ring designs once it is fielded.

The 332d AEW is currently on duty in Balad Iraq where the unit is given the charge of maintaining air superoirity over the skies of Iraq.

The present unit is the descendant of the 332d fighter wing which was established in Tuskegee Alabama in 1942 and was composed of the Army’s first black pilots. The original  name for the unit was the “Red Tailed Angels.” The first aircraft that this unit flew were the P-40 Warhawk. They were later transitioned to the P-47 Thunderbolts, and finally to the P-51 Mustang which gave them the ability to fly longer range missions.

The current unit was activated in 1998 as the 332d Air Expeditionary Group and eventually ended up in Balad. The unit’s organic equipment is much different now than when it was first activated.

The 332nd now consists of F-16 fighters, A-10 ground support aircraft, C103 transport aircraft, HH-60 Pave Hawk Helicopters for search and rescue missions, and MQ-1 Predators to conduct tactical surveillance and reconnaissance.

The Israeli government has unveiled its latest drone which is called the Heron TP.

This drone has operated for 52 continuous hours but if they tell us 52 you better believe that it can do a lot more. The Heron is highly adaptable and can fly at a height of 40,000 feet. The Heron is quite large with a wingspan of 86 feet. It can conduct surveillance operations, transport payloads, and who knows what else.

The Israeli’s say that it is versatile and can be adapted to perform other roles but that is just about all that they say. Speculation is that this aircraft can be used to fly over Iran and strike targets there which I don’t doubt at all.

The big question to me is, What haven’t they told us. If they are letting us know about the Heron I wonder what they have that they are not letting us know. All of you military ring customers who have been around for more than a few days know how the game is played.

They may be releasing this information at this time to let the Iranian government know that they are capable of hitting them if they have to. Whatever the purpose of releasing this information was I’m sure that they have an ace in the hole.

The government of Thailand siezed a plane load of weapons in December which came from North Korea. So whats the big deal you say? Well maybe not much at all but lets think about one or two things.

The Thai government says that the weapons were bound for Iran. I feel like they know what they are talking about. Why did they say Iran? Did they just pull a name out of a hat? I don’t think so.

The Iranian government says that the weapons were not bound for their country. The weapons were small arms and they don’t have a need for small arms. Now my military ring grasshopper the Iranian government dosen’t need small arms but al-Qaeda does. Is the light bulb starting to flicker yet?

If I got caught with my hand in the cookie jar I would deny it too. Thats like the TV show COPS. Nobody in the car can ever figure out where the dope came from. Let me know my military ring customers what you think about this one.

The United States is set to complete an arms deal with Taiwan which will give the Taiwanese Blackhawk Helocopters, Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missiles, mine hunter ships, and information technology.

The Chinese government is bristling at the sale of arms to Taiwan but I say forget them and feed them fish. The Chinese have been building up their armed forces for years along with positioning themselves in a position to do financial harm to us if they deem it necessary. The Chinese still feel that they own Taiwan and seek to stifle its independance. They have ballistic missiles pointed at Taiwan who is our ally.

One thing that the Taiwanese want but didn’t get is F-16 Fighter Planes. I say lets give them F-22 Raptors at a deep discount. Thats why a military man can’t be president, we are always politically incorrect. What do you think out there military ring customers.
